Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Almond Flour finely ground almonds; also known as badam
- 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour also known as maida
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Cardamom optional; also known as elaichi, ground
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Ghee also known as ghee
- 1 cup Milk
- 3/4 cup Sugar powdered
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract or use ground cardamom
- 1/4 cup Almonds for garnish (optional), whole
Instructions
Prepare the Almond Flour
- Grind 1/4 cup of whole almonds into a fine powder using a blender.
Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cardamom powder (if using). Mix well.
Combine Wet Ingredients
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the clarified butter, milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract (or cardamom powder).
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix. The batter should be slightly thick but pourable.
Bake the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour an 8-inch cake tin. Pour the batter into the prepared tin.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
