  • 1 tbsp Peanut roasted, skin removed

  • Roughly crush the Weetbix into smaller pieces. Dry roast the peanuts until fragrant and remove their skins.

  • Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a non-stick pan. Add the curry leaves and sauté until crispy and fragrant. This infuses the oil with flavor.

  • Add the roasted gram to the pan and cook until golden brown, stirring frequently to ensure even toasting.

  • Add the roasted peanuts to the pan and remove it from the heat. The residual heat will warm the peanuts through.
  • In a separate small pan (a tadka pan is ideal), heat the remaining 1 teaspoon of oil. Add the asafoetida and let it sizzle for a few seconds to release its aroma.

  • Add the turmeric powder, chili powder, and salt to the small pan. Sauté briefly until fragrant, being careful not to burn the spices.
  • Pour the spice mixture from the small pan into the larger pan with the roasted gram and peanuts. Mix well to combine.
  • Return the large pan to medium heat. Add the crushed Weetbix and mix thoroughly, ensuring all the pieces are coated with the spices and oil.
