Ingredients
For the Batter
- 1 cup Lentils also known as split black gram, black, split black lentils
- 1/4 cup Rice Flour
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Jaggery grated or finely chopped
- Water as needed, for adjusting batter consistency
For Frying
For the Pears
- 2 Pears ripe but firm, thinly sliced (about 4 slices per pear)
For Serving
- Chocolate Sauce as needed, your favorite brand or homemade
Instructions
Prepare the Batter
- Soak urad dal for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain and grind into a smooth batter using a blender. Add rice flour, salt, and jaggery. Mix well and add water to achieve a slightly thick batter, similar to pancake batter.
Prepare the Pears
- Wash and thinly slice the pears. Set aside.
Fry the Pear Medu Vada
