Ingredients
Chicken Mixture
- 500 gm Chicken ground, minced chicken
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 tsp Pepper black
- 1 tsp Chili Powder red
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- 2 tsp Garlic Paste
- 1 Egg lightly beaten
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp Chicken Masala
Coating & Frying
- 1 cup Breadcrumb
- 1 cup Vegetable Oil or enough for deep frying
Optional Garnish
- 1 tsp Piri Piri Spice or other spice blend of your choice
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken Mixture
- Combine ground chicken, salt, black pepper, red chili powder, ginger paste, garlic paste, egg, lemon juice, and chicken masala in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
Shape and Freeze
- Form the mixture into small bite-sized balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 15 minutes to firm up.
Bread and Fry
- Coat each chicken pop in breadcrumbs, ensuring they are fully covered. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Carefully fry the chicken pops in batches until golden brown and cooked through (about 3-4 minutes).
Garnish and Serve
- Remove the chicken pops from the oil and place them on a wire rack to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with piri piri spice (or your preferred seasoning) while still warm. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Recipe Notes
Expert Tips for Perfect Chicken Pops
- For extra crispy chicken pops, double bread them by dipping in breadcrumbs, then egg, then breadcrumbs again.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when frying; this will lower the oil temperature and result in soggy chicken pops.
- Adjust the amount of chili powder to your preferred spice level.
- Experiment with different dipping sauces! Sweet chili, BBQ, honey mustard, and ranch are all delicious options.
