Ingredients
For the Bread Cups
- 3 slices Bread brown
For the Moong Dal Salad
- 1/2 cup Mung Bean soaked, yellow
- 1 Potato boiled and diced
- 1/4 cup Onion finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Tomato finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Yogurt beaten, plain
- 1/2 tsp Salt black
- 1/4 tsp Cumin Seeds ground
- 1/4 tsp Pepper black, ground
- 1/4 tsp Chili Powder adjust to taste, red
- 1 tbsp Nylon Sev for garnish (optional)
- 1/2 tsp Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Oil for greasing the bread
Instructions
Prepare the Bread Cups
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin.
- Cut brown bread slices into 4-inch squares. Using a small bowl or ramekin as a template, cut out circles from the squares.
- Lightly brush the bread circles with oil. Gently press each circle into the muffin tin cups to form the bread cups.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Moong Dal Salad
- Cook 1/2 cup moong dal in 1/2 cup water with 1/4 teaspoon salt and red chili powder until tender. Set aside to cool completely.
- In a bowl, combine cooked and cooled moong dal, diced boiled potatoes, chopped onions, and chopped tomatoes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the yogurt, black salt, cumin powder, black pepper, and remaining salt.
- Add the yogurt mixture to the dal mixture and stir gently to combine.
Assemble and Serve
- Spoon the dal salad into the baked bread cups.
- Garnish with nylon sev, if desired.
