Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oil and yogurt. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough comes together.

Shape and Bake the Crackers

  • Divide the dough into 4-5 equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a thin circle (approximately 3-4 inches in diameter). Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out crackers. Prick each cracker several times with a fork.

Bake to Golden Brown

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly brush the crackers with oil. Arrange them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.

Cool and Store

  • Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack before storing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for Perfect Star Crackers

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder to the dry ingredients.
  • If the dough is too sticky, add a little more rice flour, one tablespoon at a time, until it's easier to handle.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking sheet when baking. This ensures even cooking and prevents the crackers from becoming soggy.
  • Experiment with different spices! Add a touch of cumin, coriander, or even some finely chopped herbs for unique flavor combinations.
