Instructions

  • In a blender, combine the dry fruits and nuts, mango pulp, and banana pieces. Add a splash of milk.
  • Blend until the mixture is well combined and mostly smooth. This initial blend helps break down the dry fruits and ensures a creamy texture.
  • Add the remaining milk and ice cubes to the blender.
  • Blend again until the smoothie is completely smooth and frothy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  • Pour the smoothie into serving glasses. Garnish with a few chopped dry fruits or nuts, if desired.

Recipe Notes

Good To Know

  • For extra creaminess and a protein boost, blend in a couple of tablespoons of Greek yogurt or silken tofu along with the fruits.
  • Soak dried fruits (like dates, figs, or raisins) in warm milk or water for 10-15 minutes before blending for a smoother texture.
  • For a vegan version, substitute dairy milk with almond, oat, or coconut milk, and top with toasted coconut chips.
  • To serve parfait-style, layer the smoothie with granola and chopped nuts in a tall glass, garnished with fresh mango or banana.

Expert Tips

  • Frozen fruit will give you the thickest, coldest smoothie. If using fresh fruit, add a few ice cubes to achieve the desired consistency.
  • Don't over-blend your smoothie. A few pulses will keep it from becoming too thin and watery.
  • Experiment with different flavor combinations! Berries and spinach, mango and ginger, or pineapple and coconut are all delicious pairings.

Storage Instructions

  • Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. The smoothie may separate, so give it a good stir before drinking.
