Ingredients
Melons
- 1 Cantaloupe
- 1/4 Watermelon
Flavor & Garnish
- 30 ml Honey
- A few sprigs Mint Leaves
- 1 cup Pomegranate Seeds
Instructions
- Using a melon baller, create melon and watermelon balls. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
- In a blender, combine the grapes, orange juice, and pineapple juice. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any seeds or pulp. This creates a smooth and refined soup base.
- Return the strained juice to the blender. Add honey and a few mint leaves. Blend again until well combined.
- Pour the chilled soup into ramekins or soup bowls. Gently place the melon and watermelon balls in the soup. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and pomegranate seeds. Serve immediately.
For the exotic version
- Instead of orange and pineapple juice, use the juice of 1 grapefruit and 50 ml of sweet wine. Substitute 100g of red currants for the grapes.
- Follow the same blending and straining process as the original recipe. Garnish and serve as directed.
Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- Do not use wine for parties where children are invited.
Expert Tips
- For a richer flavor, consider using a full-bodied red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot.
- If you don't have wine on hand, you can substitute with grape juice or even chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version.
- Adjust the amount of wine to your liking, adding more for a stronger wine flavor or less for a milder taste.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
