  • Wash the okra thoroughly and wipe completely dry. Chop into medium pieces and keep aside.

Cooking the Bhindi

  • Heat oil in a wide pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle gently.
  • Add chopped okra and cook uncovered on medium heat for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the bhindi looks soft and cooked with no raw or sticky texture.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix gently.
  • Cover and cook on low heat until the tomatoes soften and coat the bhindi lightly.

Final Steps

  • Cook uncovered for a few minutes to remove excess moisture. Serve warm.
