- 1/2 tsp Asafoetida hing
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds jeera
- 1 Bay Leaf tej patta

- Soak the moong dal for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, chop the apple, banana (or substitute), and ginger.
Pressure Cooking
- Combine the soaked dal, chopped apple, banana (or substitute), ginger, and 3-4 cups of water in a pressure cooker. Cook for one whistle. Remove from heat and let the pressure release naturally.
Tempering & Finishing
- Heat the desi ghee in a pan or kadhai. Add the asafoetida, cumin seeds, and bay leaf. Once fragrant, add the cooked dal.
Seasoning & Serving
- Simmer the dal for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt to taste. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice or puri.
