Lauki Kofta Curry

Green vegetables are good for health, and if we talk about Bottle Guard( as call as Lauki), some people think that it is very boring and could be taken for patient type food. But here is so delicious lauki kofta curry.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium size bottle guard lauki
  • 1 cup besan
  • 50 gms Grated Paneer
  • ½ table spoon cumin seeds
  • 1 Big Onion
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 1-2 Green Chillis
  • 2-3 black pepper
  • 1 cup yougurt
  • ½ cup milk cream
  • ½ Tablespoon Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tablespoon Turmeric Powder
  • ½ Tablespoon Coriander Powder
  • ½ Table spoon Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • 1 small bowl chopped Coriander leaves
  • 1 mug water

Instructions
 

  • Grate the bottle guard and boil it with ½ glass of water in cooker to make it soft.
  • By the time chop the onion, black pepper and green chili and prepare the paste. Similarly chop the tomatoes and prepare the paste separately.
  • Extract all the water from the boiled lauki.
  • Add besan, some chilli powder, some grated paneer, ½ cup yogurt, some salt to it and mix it well.
  • Add some oil in kadhai for frying in medium high heat. Make balls of the prepared mixture and fry, as it turns golden brown.
  • Now all kofta pakoris are ready. Heat the oil in other kadhai over medium high heat. Test the heat by adding one cumin seed to the oil. If the cumin seed cracks right away, the oil is ready.
  • Add cumin seeds, as it cracks add onion paste till it turns golden brown, then add tomato paste.
  • Next add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt. Lower the heat to medium and cook the spice mix for about 4-5 minutes until mix start leaving the side of the pan. Put one glass of water to it and let it for 5 mins.
  • Add the ½ cup yogurt to ½ cup milk cream, mix well then add it to the gravy mix well.
  • Now put all the pakoris to the gravy and turn off the heat.
  • After 2 minutes add the grated paneer and coriander leaves to it.
  • Now, yummy lauki kofta curry is ready to serve. Serve with Rice or chapatis.

Notes

  • Yougurt added to the mixture for pakoris to make it soften and paneer makes it tasteir.
