This is an Indian Savory street food which is made with boiled fresh green chana (Chickpeas) and pomegranate pearls.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 cup Fresh green chickpeas choliya / green chana
  • ½ cup Pomegranate
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes firm, deseeded and chopped
  • 4 Cherry Tomato cut into halves
  • 1 Cucumber small, deseeded and chopped
  • 1/4 Raw Mango cubed
  • 1/4 bunch Coriander fresh, finely chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 15 ml Lemon Juice

Instructions
 

  • Cook choliya/ Green Chickpeas in 1 ½ cups of water till done, further cook it till all the water evaporates (approximately 15 minutes).
  • Place in a glass bowl add pomegranate pearls, chopped onions, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, raw mango coriander leaves, roasted cumin powder, black pepper, salt and lemon juice and mix well.
  • Few things which you can optional as they taste great are peanuts, walnuts or raisins.
  • If you are dry roasting ingredients peanuts, it has to be done on a medium flame. Also the cooking time mentioned above would be from 05 minutes to 20-25 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
