Very tasty, flavorful, exotic dish and healthy as well. It is a simple and easy recipe. The fish is boiled along with few basic ingredients till it is cook and water is evaporated completely. It is a dry side dish perfect with steam curry along with curries or dal.

Ingredients
 

  • 500 gm Fish
  • 15 Green Chillies or as per taste
  • 2 inches Ginger
  • 10 cloves Garlic
  • 3 tbsp Bamboo Shoot Shredded Or Minced bamboo shoot shredded or minced
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • Water as required

Instructions
 

  • In a pan add the cleaned fish.

  • Coarsely ground the green chillies, ginger and garlic and add them to the fish. Add the Bamboo Shoot to the pan.

  • Add salt as per taste and gently mix them well together.

  • Add required water covering the fish completely.

  • Cover the pan and cook on medium flame till the water is completely evaporated approx 15-20 mins.
  • Your boiled fish with bamboo shoots is ready. Let it cool down completely and gently spoon them in a serving dish and serve with steamed rice.

Recipe Notes

If one cannot source Bamboo Shoot you can substitute Bamboo Shoot with tomatoes.
At the end of the preparation you can add some chopped coriander leaves as garnish, traditionally we don’t add them but with passage of time people started adding them as garnish.
This dish is served best the next day.
