Ingredients
Sprouts & Legumes
- 1/2 cup Moong Sprouts
- 1/2 cup Peas fresh or frozen, green
- 1/2 cup Chickpeas cooked
Spices & Seasoning
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 tsp Chili Powder red
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder haldi
- 1/4 cup Coriander dhania, chopped, fresh
Other
- 2 tbsp Oil for shallow frying
- 1/4 cup Breadcrumb for binding, optional
Instructions
Prepare the Sprouts
- Boil moong sprouts for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain well.
Combine Ingredients
- In a large bowl, combine the boiled moong sprouts, green peas, chickpeas, mashed potatoes, green chilies, coriander, salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder. If using, add breadcrumbs to help bind the mixture.
Shape the Tikkis
- Mix well to combine all ingredients thoroughly. Form the mixture into small, flattened patties (tikkis) about 1/2 inch thick.
Shallow Fry the Tikkis
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat. Carefully place the tikkis in the pan and shallow fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
Serve
- Serve the hot Mixed Sprouts Tikkis immediately. They are delicious on their own or with a side of chutney or ketchup.
