Ingredients
For the Soybeans
- 2 cup Soybeans dried soybeans; soak overnight before cooking
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder red
- 3 tbsp Corn Flour
- 2 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil for frying
For the Sauce
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil for the sauce
- 1 Onion large, chopped
- 1 Bell Peppers capsicum, medium, diced
- 2 Chilies slit lengthwise, green
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Vinegar white
- 2 tbsp Chili Sauce green
- 4.5 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 1.5 tbsp Chili Sauce red
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1.5 tsp Salt adjust to taste
- 0.5 tsp Sugar
- 1/4 cup Spring Onions chopped, for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Soybeans
- Boil the soaked soybeans for 10 minutes until tender. Drain well and set aside.
Marinate the Soybeans
- In a bowl, combine the drained soybeans with 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tbsp red chili powder, 3 tbsp corn flour, and 2 tbsp all-purpose flour. Mix thoroughly to coat the soybeans evenly.
Fry the Soybeans
- Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated soybeans and fry until golden brown and crispy, stirring occasionally. Remove the soybeans from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Prepare the Sauce
- Heat 2 tbsp vegetable oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and saute until softened. Add the diced bell pepper and green chilies and saute for a few more minutes.
Combine and Simmer
- Add the 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste to the skillet, followed by the vinegar, green chili sauce, tomato ketchup, red chili sauce, soy sauce, salt, and sugar. Stir well to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Finish and Serve
- Add the fried soybeans to the sauce, stirring gently to coat them evenly. Stir in the chopped spring onions. Serve hot!
