Ingredients
Fish & Marinade
- 250 gm Fish Fillets white fish fillets such as cod, or snapper work well., tilapia
- 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder also known as haldi
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder adjust to your spice preference, red
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp Onion Paste
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 2 tbsp Mustard Oil
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
Garnish (optional)
- 1 Lime Wedge for serving
- Coriander for garnish, to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Fish
- Wash the fish fillets thoroughly 7-8 times, with the final rinse including turmeric powder and salt.
Marinate the Fish
- In a bowl, combine the washed fish with turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice, red chili powder, onion paste, ginger-garlic paste, and mustard oil. Mix well to ensure the fish is evenly coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or longer for a more intense flavor.
Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F) for 10 minutes.
Roast the Fish
- Place the marinated fish fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Roast for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Ensure even browning by flipping halfway through.
Serve
- Serve the crispy roasted fish immediately, garnished with a lime wedge and fresh cilantro. Enjoy with a side salad.
