Ingredients
Crab & Protein
Aromatics & Spices
- 2 medium Onion 1 finely chopped, 1 roughly chopped for paste
- 10 cloves Garlic
- 2 Chili Pepper adjust to your spice preference, green
- 1 tbsp Kashmiri Chili Powder for color and mild heat, red
- Salt to taste
Sauces & Liquids
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 tbsp Tomato Sauce adds sweetness and body, optional
- 2 tbsp Chili Flakes
- 3 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1 cup Water
Cooking Oil
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil or any neutral cooking oil
- 1 inch Ginger finely chopped, for paste
Instructions
Prepare the Aromatics
- Finely chop one onion, and roughly chop the other. Mince the garlic and ginger. Combine the roughly chopped onion, ginger, garlic, and green chilies in a food processor or blender and create a smooth paste.
Sauté and Simmer
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan or wok over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Add the aromatics paste and sauté for another 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Incorporate Crab and Spices
- Stir in soy sauce and chili flakes. Add the crab meat and sauté for approximately 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. In a separate bowl, mix tomato sauce (if using), chili flakes and water. Add this mixture to the crab. Season with salt to taste.
Add Eggs and Finish
- Let the curry simmer for a few minutes, partially covered. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt. Gently pour the eggs into the simmering curry and cover the pan for about 1 minute. Then, gently scramble the eggs into the curry. Stir in the chopped green chilies and lemon juice.

- Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
