Ingredients
Mangoes
- 2 Mangoes large, raw, such as totapari mangoes (or similar variety); ensure they are firm and ripe but still green.
Spice Blend
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds dry-roasted and ground
- 1 tsp Peppercorns ground, black
- 1/4 tsp Salt kala namak (optional, adds a unique tang), black
Sweetener & Liquid
- 50 grams Sugar or to taste; adjust based on mango sweetness. can substitute with honey or another preferred sweetener.
- 8-10 Mint Leaves fresh
- 4-5 cup Water chilled
- Ice Cubes as needed, crushed
Instructions
Prepare the Mangoes
- Wash the raw mangoes thoroughly and pat them dry.
- Prick the mangoes all over with a fork.
- Grill the mangoes directly over an open flame, rotating frequently for even roasting.
- Roast until the skin is completely blackened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Peel off the blackened skin and remove the mango pit. Roughly chop the pulp.
Blend the Ingredients
- Combine the mango pulp, sugar, mint leaves, black salt, cumin powder, and black pepper in a blender.
- Blend until completely smooth.
- Add chilled water and blend for another minute until well incorporated.
Serve
- Pour the Aam Pora Shorbot into glasses filled with crushed ice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
