Ingredients
For the Curry:
- 100 gm Cottage Cheese indian cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup Peas fresh or frozen, green
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds rai
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder haldi
- 2 tsp Chili Powder adjust to taste, red
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Tomato-Onion Puree
- Boil 2 cups of water in a saucepan. Add the chopped onion and tomatoes. Simmer for 15 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
- Once cooled, blend the mixture into a smooth puree using a blender or food processor.
Fry the Paneer
- Cut the paneer into bite-sized cubes. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan or kadhai over medium heat. Fry the paneer cubes until lightly golden brown. Set aside.
Make the Curry
- Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in the same pan. Add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the green peas and sauté for 3 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato-onion puree, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Mix well.
- Add the garam masala and salt. Mix well and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat, stirring occasionally. Add a little water if needed to adjust the consistency.
Combine and Serve
- Gently stir in the fried paneer cubes. Simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Do not overcook the paneer.
- Serve hot with roti, naan, or steamed rice.
