Instructions

Prepare the Sesame Seeds

  • Roast sesame seeds in a pan over low heat, stirring frequently, until fragrant and lightly golden. Ensure the pan is uncovered to prevent steaming.

Grind the Sesame Seeds

  • Grind ¾ of the roasted sesame seeds into a powder. Set aside the remaining ¼ for coating.

Prepare the Khoya

  • Heat the khoya in a non-stick pan over very low heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning. Cook until lightly golden and fragrant, but be careful not to overcook. Allow to cool completely.

Combine Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, combine the cooled khoya, powdered sugar, ground sesame seeds, and cardamom powder. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Shape the Laddoos

  • Roll the mixture into small balls (laddoos).

Coat and Garnish

  • Roll each laddoo in the reserved roasted sesame seeds to coat evenly. Place a cashew on top of each laddoo for garnish.

Serve and Enjoy

  • Serve your delicious Khoya Til Laddoos at room temperature. Store in an airtight container.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for Perfect Khoya Til Laddoos

  • Use good quality khoya for the best flavor and texture.
  • Low and slow is key! Roast the sesame seeds and khoya gently to prevent burning and maintain their rich flavor.
  • If the mixture is too dry to roll into balls, add a tiny bit of warm milk, one teaspoon at a time, until it's pliable.
  • For a richer flavor, toast the cashew nuts lightly before placing them on top of the laddoos.
