Recipe Notes
Additional Tips
- For a smoother texture and enhanced flavor, steep thinly sliced raw turmeric (if available) in hot water for 10 minutes before straining and chilling; this mellows any bitterness and delivers a fresher, more aromatic profile than using just powder.
- Adding a pinch of black pepper not only complements the earthy notes but also increases the bioavailability of curcumin (the active compound in turmeric), boosting the drink's health benefits.
- To turn this lemonade into a sparkling refresher, top each serving with chilled club soda or sparkling water just before serving for a lively, effervescent twist.
- For a naturally sweetened version, substitute honey or agave syrup for sugar, dissolving it in warm water first to ensure even mixing and a smooth consistency.
