Expert Tips for the Best Masala Chai
- Toast the spices: Before grinding, lightly toast the whole spices (except ginger, mint & lemongrass) in a dry pan over medium heat for a deeper, more complex flavor. This step is optional but recommended.
- Adjust to taste: Feel free to adjust the quantities of individual spices to suit your preferences. Start with the recipe as is and experiment in future batches.
- Freshly ground is best: While you can store the blend for several months, the freshest flavor will always be achieved when the spices are freshly ground before use.
- Gift it!: This homemade Masala Chai blend makes a wonderful and unique gift for friends and family. Package it in pretty jars with a recipe card for extra flair.
