Ingredients
For the Paneer Marinade
- 200 gm Cottage Cheese cut into heart shapes, indian cottage cheese
- 2 Chili adjust to taste, dried, red
- 1 tsp Coriander seeds
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 5 Peppercorn black
- 1.5 cm Cinnamon stick
- 2 Clove
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg ground
- 3 tbsp Oil vegetable or canola
- 1 tbsp Grape Puree
- 1 tbsp Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
For Grilling and Serving
- 2 tbsp Oil for grilling
- 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala to taste
- 1/2 cup Fruit Sauce cranberry sauce, etc., your choice - mango chutney
- Optional Salad for garnish, fresh
Instructions
Prepare the Spice Blend
- Dry roast the red chilies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, peppercorns, cinnamon stick, cloves, and nutmeg in a dry pan until fragrant. Grind to a coarse powder using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
Marinate the Paneer
- In a bowl, combine the spice powder, oil, grape puree, garlic paste, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well. Add the paneer hearts and marinate for at least 15 minutes (longer is better).
Grill the Paneer
- Preheat your grill or grill pan. Lightly brush the paneer hearts with oil. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly charred. Be careful not to burn them.
Serve
- Serve the grilled paneer hearts immediately with your favorite fruit sauce and a fresh salad, if desired. Sprinkle with chaat masala before serving.
