Instructions

Prepare the Rice

  • Soak basmati rice in water for at least 30 minutes. Drain well.
  • Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Add the drained rice, salt, and turmeric powder. Stir well to combine.
  • Pour in 2 cups of water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until rice is cooked through.

Sauté Paneer and Vegetables

  • While rice is cooking, heat butter in a separate pan. Add cubed paneer and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add green peas, chopped fenugreek leaves, and coriander leaves. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes.
  • Stir in garam masala and red chili powder. Cook for another minute, until fragrant.

Combine and Serve

  • Gently fold the cooked rice into the paneer and vegetable mixture. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
  • Remove from heat and cover the pan for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves, if desired. Enjoy with a side of yogurt or raita.
