Ingredients
For the Paneer
- 250 gm Cottage Cheese cut into 1-inch cubes, indian cottage cheese
For the Batter
- 1/2 cup Gram Flour besan
- 1 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp Pepper black, ground
- 1 tbsp Coriander dhania, ground
- 1/4 tsp Carom Seeds ajwain
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup Water add gradually to achieve desired batter consistency
For Frying & Serving
- 2 cup Oil for deep frying, vegetable or canola oil
- Tomato Ketchup for serving
- 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup for coating paneer
Instructions
Prepare the Paneer
- Make shallow slits in each paneer cube.
- Spread 2 tbsp of Tomato Ketchup over the paneer cubes and set aside.
Make the Batter
- In a medium bowl, whisk together chickpea flour, salt, black pepper, coriander, carom seeds, and baking soda.
- Gradually add water, whisking constantly until a smooth, slightly thick batter forms. The batter should coat the back of a spoon.
Fry the Pakoras
