- 100 gm Desiccated Coconut dried, finely grated
- 1 tbsp Sugar powdered
- 50 gm Nuts almonds, cashews, chopped, mixed, raisins
- 200 ml Ghee for deep frying
Instructions
Prepare the Dough
- Combine all-purpose flour and salt in a bowl. Add melted ghee and rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Gradually add water, mixing until a smooth, pliable dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Make the Filling

Assemble the Gujia
- Roll out small portions of the dough into thin circles (about 4-5 inches in diameter).
- Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling to form a half-moon shape, carefully pressing the edges to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork or your fingers for a decorative finish.
Fry the Gujia
- Heat ghee in a deep pan or kadai over medium heat.
- Carefully add the Gujia to the hot ghee, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches if necessary.
- Fry until the Gujia are golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. This should take about 3-4 minutes per side.
Finish and Serve
- Remove the Gujia from the ghee and place them on a wire rack or paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
