- 1 stick Cinnamon
- 2 Cloves
- 2 Cardamom Pods green cardamom preferred
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 1 pinch Nutmeg also known as jaiphal
- 1 Star Anise
- 1 Peppercorns black
- 6 Peppercorns black
- 2 pinch Turmeric also known as merry gold
Liquid & Sweetener
- 4 cup Water
- 2 cup Milk whole milk recommended
- 2 tsp Tea Leaves assam or strong black tea preferred, black
- 1 tsp Honey or sweetener of choice, to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Spice Blend
- Combine all spices (cinnamon, cloves, cardamom pods, bay leaf, nutmeg, star anise, black peppercorns, and turmeric) in a small bowl.
Simmer the Spices
- In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the spice blend and let it simmer gently for 5-7 minutes to release the aromatic oils.
Add Tea and Milk
- Add the black tea leaves to the simmering spiced water. Pour in the milk and bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer, but do not boil vigorously.
Strain and Sweeten
