Instructions

Prepare the Soya Pattice

  • Mix the cooked and squeezed soya chunks with red chili powder, garam masala, ginger-garlic paste, boiled potato, mint, coriander, salt. Mix well. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into discs.

Cook the Adai Buns

  • Lightly season adai batter with salt. Heat a tawa or skillet. Pour small amounts of batter to make thin, round adai pancakes. Drizzle a little oil around the edges. Cook until light brown on both sides.

Cook the Soya Pattice

  • Cook the soya pattice on the same tawa. Once firm and lightly browned on one side, top with onion slices. Flip and cook the other side until browned.

Assemble the Burgers

  • Place a soya pattice on an adai bun. Top with tomato slices, lettuce, and mustard sauce. Cover with another adai bun.

Serve

  • Serve the Adai Burgers immediately and enjoy!

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for the Best Adai Burgers:

  • For extra flavor in the soya pattice, add a pinch of turmeric powder and a finely chopped green chili.
  • If your adai batter is too thick, add a little water to adjust consistency before cooking the buns.
  • To make the patties ahead of time, cook them completely and store in the refrigerator. Reheat gently before assembling the burgers.
  • Get creative with toppings! Try adding pickled onions, chutneys, or your favorite burger sauce for a unique twist.
