Ingredients
For the Smoothie:
- 1 cup Almond Milk homemade or store-bought, thick
- 1 Orange medium-sized navel orange
- 1 tbsp Cocoa Powder unsweetened kalya cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp Cane Sugar or to taste
- 3/4 tbsp Flaxseed ground flaxseed
- 4-6 cubes Ice Cube adjust to desired consistency
Instructions
Make the Almond Milk (optional)
- Wash and soak 1/2 cup of almonds in water overnight. Drain and remove the skins. Blend the soaked almonds with 1 cup of water until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
Prepare the Orange
- Wash the orange thoroughly. Peel the orange, removing all white pith. Separate the segments, removing any seeds.
Extract Orange Pulp
- Carefully remove the pulp from the orange segments. Collect the pulp in a bowl.
Blend the Smoothie
- Combine almond milk, cocoa powder, and cane sugar in a blender. Blend until smooth.
- Add flaxseed meal and blend again until combined.
- Add the orange pulp and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding more ice if needed to reach desired consistency.
Serve
- Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately!
