Ingredients
Produce
- 1 medium Bell Peppers red
- 1 medium Bell Peppers yellow
- 1 medium Bell Peppers green
Dairy & Cheese
- 200 gm Cottage Cheese cottage cheese
Sauces & Seasonings
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1/2 tsp Oregano dried
- 1/2 tsp Basil dried
- 1/2 tsp Herbs mixed, optional
- 1/2 tsp Chili Flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
Instructions
- Chop all the bell peppers into bite-sized pieces. Cut the paneer into similar-sized cubes.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or pan over medium heat. Add the green bell pepper and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes, until it begins to soften slightly.
- Add the red and yellow bell peppers to the pan. Sauté for another minute, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften but still retain some crispness.
- Gently add the paneer cubes to the pan. Sprinkle with salt, oregano, basil, mixed herbs (if using), and chili flakes. Toss everything together to coat the paneer and peppers evenly with the seasonings.
- Add the tomato ketchup and soy sauce. Toss gently to combine, ensuring the paneer and peppers are coated in the sauce. Be careful not to overcook the paneer, as it can become tough.
- Serve the Tri-Color Pepper Paneer immediately while it's hot and enjoy!
Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- Tomato ketchup and soy sauce already contain salt, so season carefully.
- Adjust the herbs and bell peppers to your taste.
- Do not cover the pan at any stage of cooking to maintain the peppers' crunchiness and vibrant color. Covering the pan will soften the peppers and dull their color.
- Cook the peppers until they are slightly crunchy, but not fully cooked.
Expert Tips
- For a richer flavor, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes or a dash of your favorite hot sauce.
- If using fresh herbs, add them towards the end of cooking to preserve their bright flavor and prevent them from wilting.
- Serve this dish hot as a side or as a main course with rice or naan.
Storage Instructions
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a pan on the stovetop or in the microwave.
