Ingredients
For the Rice
- 2 cup Rice cooked
For the Tempering
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds rai
- 1 tsp Urad Dal black, split
- 1 tsp Chickpea split chickpeas
- 2 Chilies adjust to taste, broken, dried, red
- 1 leaf Curry Leaves
For the Seasoning
- 1.5 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder haldi
- 3 tbsp Lemon Juice freshly squeezed is best
Instructions
Prepare the Tempering
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter.
- Add the urad dal and chana dal. Sauté until lightly golden.
- Add the dried red chilies and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.
Combine the Ingredients
- Add the turmeric powder and salt to the tempering. Sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the lemon juice and mix well.
- Add the cooked rice to the pan. Gently stir to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
Serve
- Remove from heat and serve warm. Garnish with fresh cilantro or curry leaves (optional).
