Instructions

Prepare the Pear Puree

  • Blend the chopped pears with 1/2 cup of water (or more as needed) until completely smooth. Set aside.

Simmer the Mixture

  • In a small saucepan, combine the pear puree, honey, and ginger paste (or grated ginger). Add a little water if needed to help the mixture simmer evenly. Simmer gently over low heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.

Strain and Cool

  • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl to remove any solids.

Stir in Lemon Juice

  • Stir in the lemon juice.

Assemble Popsicles

  • Pour the mixture into popsicle molds. You can add a few small pieces of pear to the bottom of each mold for added texture.

Freeze

  • Freeze for at least 5 hours, or preferably overnight, until solid.

Remove Popsicles

  • To remove the popsicles from the molds, run the molds under warm water for a minute to loosen them.

Expert Tips for Perfect Sore Throat Popsicles

  • For a smoother texture, use a high-speed blender and strain the mixture twice.
  • Adjust the amount of honey to your liking. If you prefer a less sweet popsicle, reduce the honey. You can also substitute maple syrup.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth and flavor.
  • For a more vibrant color, add a few drops of food coloring (optional).
