Recipe Notes
Good To Know
- For extra tang and a flavor boost, lightly squeeze lemon juice over the paneer filling just before assembling the sandwich; this complements the chaat masala and elevates the freshness.
- If you prefer a warm sandwich, grill or toast the assembled sandwiches on a tawa with a light brush of ghee or butter—this adds a golden crust and a subtle richness that pairs beautifully with the paneer and veggies.
- To make the sandwiches more filling, add a thin spread of green chutney or a layer of mashed avocado to one side of the bread before adding the filling for an extra creamy texture and a burst of flavor.
- Leftover filling can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 24 hours; it also works great as a stuffing for parathas or wraps the next day.
Expert Tips
- Customize your veggies: Feel free to add other vegetables like shredded carrots, finely chopped bell peppers, or even some corn for added flavor and texture.
- Spice it up: For those who like a bit of heat, add a pinch of red chili flakes or a few drops of your favorite hot sauce to the paneer filling.
- Make it a meal: Serve your paneer sandwiches with a side of raita (yogurt dip) and some crispy potato chips for a complete and satisfying meal.
Storage Instructions
- Assembled sandwiches are best enjoyed fresh. If storing, wrap them tightly in foil or plastic wrap and keep at room temperature for no more than 2-3 hours.
- Store leftover paneer filling separately in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
