Prepare the Bhalla Filling

  • Combine desiccated coconut, chopped almonds, cashews, raisins, and salt in a bowl. Set aside.

Assemble the Bread Bhallas

  • Cut bread slices into 4-inch rounds.
  • Lightly moisten one side of each bread round.
  • Place 1-2 teaspoons of the filling in the center of each bread round.
  • Fold the bread in half to form a semi-circle, pressing the edges firmly to seal.
  • Repeat with the remaining bread slices.

Toast the Bhallas

  • Lightly brush both sides of each bhalla with oil.
  • Toast in a toaster oven until lightly golden brown. Alternatively, you can pan-fry them gently in a little oil.

Prepare the Yogurt Mixture

  • Whip the yogurt until smooth and creamy.
  • Season with salt to taste.

Serve the Bread Dahi Bhalla

  • Soak the toasted bhallas in water for 1 minute to soften them slightly.
  • Gently squeeze out excess water from each bhalla.
  • Dip each bhalla into the yogurt mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
