Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 150 gm Marie Biscuits unsweetened biscuits; can substitute with other similar biscuits.
- 100 gm Peanuts roasted peanuts, coarsely crushed.
Wet Ingredients
- 400 gm Sweetened Milk like nestle milkmaid, condensed
- 100 gm Butter unsalted butter, softened.
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract optional, for enhanced flavor.
Instructions
Prepare the Biscuits and Peanuts
- Coarsely crush the Marie biscuits using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
- Roast the peanuts in a dry pan over medium heat until fragrant and lightly browned. Let cool slightly, then coarsely crush them by hand or using a food processor.
Combine the Ingredients
- In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in the sweetened condensed milk until well combined.
- Add the crushed biscuits and peanuts to the butter-condensed milk mixture. Stir continuously to ensure everything is evenly coated.
Cook and Set the Mixture
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent sticking. Continue cooking until the mixture starts to come away from the sides of the pan and thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract (if using).
Shape and Cool
- Grease a baking dish or tray with butter or cooking spray. Pour the peanut bar mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly to create an even layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mixture is firm and set.
- Once set, cut into bars and serve.
