- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Cinnamon ground
- 1/2 tsp Ginger ground
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg ground
- 1/4 tsp Cloves ground
- 1/4 tsp Pepper black, ground
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter softened, unsalted
- 1/2 cup Packed Sugar brown, light
- 2/3 cup Honey
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
Prepare the Honey Mixture
- Combine softened butter, brown sugar, and honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture boils and simmers for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Combine Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and black pepper.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
- Add the cooled honey mixture, vanilla extract, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Incorporate Almonds
- Fold in the toasted sliced almonds.
