Add Mix-ins & Bake

  • Stir in the remaining 1/3 cup chopped dark chocolate and the chopped walnuts. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 20-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Do not overbake.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for the Best Black Bean Brownies:

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate: The better the chocolate, the better the brownies will taste! Look for chocolate with a high percentage of cacao for a richer, more intense flavor.
  • Don't over-blend the batter: While you want a smooth batter, over-blending can make the brownies tough. Blend until just combined.
  • Cool completely: Allowing the brownies to cool completely before cutting is essential for achieving clean, neat pieces and preventing them from crumbling.
  • Get creative with mix-ins: Feel free to experiment with different mix-ins! Try chopped pecans, macadamia nuts, dried cranberries, or chocolate chips.
