Ingredients
Ingredients
- 2 cup Thai Jasmine Rice
- 3 1/2 cup Water
- 1 stalk Lemongrass
- 5 pod Cardamom
Instructions
- Trim the ends of the lemongrass stalk and remove the tough outer layers. Cut the lemongrass into 3 pieces. This helps release the aromatic oils.
- Lightly crush the cardamom pods using a mortar and pestle to release their fragrance. Alternatively, you can gently press on them with the flat side of a knife.
- Rinse the Thai Jasmine rice in a fine-mesh sieve under cold water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch and helps achieve fluffy rice.
- Combine the rinsed rice, water, lemongrass pieces, and crushed cardamom pods in a rice cooker.
- Cook according to the rice cooker's instructions. For most cookers, this will involve closing the lid and pressing the 'Cook' or 'Start' button.
- Once the rice is cooked, fluff it gently with a fork. Remove and discard the lemongrass pieces and cardamom pods.
- Serve the fragrant Lemongrass Rice hot as a delicious accompaniment to your favorite Thai dishes.
