Ingredients
For the Samosa Filling
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Gram black, split, urad dal
- 4.5 leaves Curry Leaves also known as limdo
- 1 tbsp Chili Powder adjust to your spice preference. can be mixed with water to form a paste., red
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric haldi
- 1 pinch Asafoetida hing
- 2 Potato boiled and grated, medium size
- 1/4 tsp Garam Masala
- 1.5 tsp Salt adjust to taste
- 1 tsp Sugar powdered
- 1/4 tsp Chaat Masala
- 2 tbsp Coriander dhania, some chopped, some finely chopped for garnish
For Assembly & Garnishing
- 25 Crackers ritz crackers or similar
- 1/4 cup Tamarind Date Chutney or any sweet chutney of your choice
Instructions
Make the Samosa Filling
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and urad dal. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add curry leaves, red chili powder paste, turmeric powder, and asafoetida. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add boiled and grated potatoes. Mix well.
- Add garam masala, salt, sugar, chaat masala, and chopped coriander. Mix for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat. Let cool.
Assemble the Samosa Bites
- Place a cracker on a serving plate. Top with 1-1.5 teaspoons of the samosa filling.
- Add 1/4 teaspoon of chutney.
- Sprinkle with finely chopped coriander.
- Repeat with remaining crackers and serve immediately.
