Ingredients
For the Prawns
- 200 gm Prawns
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1/2 tsp Salt
For the Patties
- 1 cup Potatoes boiled and mashed, mashed
- 4 slices Bread
- 1 tsp Chili Paste green
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin Powder roasted
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder roasted
- 1 tsp Garlic Paste
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Salt or to taste
Instructions
- Marinate a portion of the prawns with lemon juice, turmeric powder, and salt. This helps infuse the prawns with flavor and keeps them moist during cooking.
- Lightly pan-fry the marinated prawns until they turn pink and opaque. Set them aside.
- Finely chop the remaining prawns and combine them in a mixing bowl with the mashed potatoes, crumbled bread slices, green chili paste, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, roasted coriander powder, garlic paste, ginger paste, lemon juice, and salt.
- Thoroughly mix all the ingredients until a smooth dough forms. The bread helps bind the patties together and adds a soft texture.
- Shape the dough into small patties using your palms. Beat an egg and brush it over both sides of each patty. This egg wash helps create a golden-brown crust when frying.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the patties in batches until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides. Turning them ensures even cooking and a beautiful crust.
- Gently press a whole fried prawn into the center of each patty for an elegant presentation and added flavor.
- Serve the prawn patties hot with ketchup or your preferred dipping sauce.
