Ingredients
For the Papad Cones
- 4 pcs Masala Papad
For the Filling
- 1 cup Rice Puffs (muri)
- 1 cup Tomatoes finely chopped
- 1 cup Cucumber finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Onion finely chopped, optional
- 1 cup Namkeen haldiram's or any preferred brand
- 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup for garnish, optional
- 2 tbsp Coriander Chutney for garnish, green, optional
- 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
- 1/4 tsp Chili Powder or to taste, red
- 1/4 tsp Chaat Masala for added flavor, optional
Instructions
Prepare the Papad Cones
- Break each papad into two equal semicircles. Microwave one papad at a time for 20-25 seconds, or until soft and pliable.
- While the papad is still hot and pliable, carefully curl it into a cone shape. Secure the edges to maintain the cone shape. Repeat with the remaining papad pieces.
Prepare the Filling
- In a medium bowl, combine the rice puffs, chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumber, chopped onion (if using), namkeen, salt, red chili powder, and chaat masala. Mix well.
Assemble the Cones
- Fill each papad cone generously with the prepared mixture.
- Place each filled cone in a small glass or shot glass to help it stand upright. Add a small amount of the mixture to the base of the glass for stability.
Garnish and Serve
- Garnish each cone with tomato ketchup and green coriander chutney (if using).
- Serve immediately. The cones will become soggy if left to sit for too long.

Expert Tips for Perfect Masala Papad Cones
- For extra crispy cones, you can lightly toast the papads in a dry pan before microwaving.
- Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite vegetables and spices. Try adding finely chopped carrots, bell peppers, or cilantro.
- If you don't have a microwave, you can soften the papads by briefly heating them over a gas flame, being careful not to burn them.
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of red chili powder or add a pinch of green chilies to the filling.
