  • In a warm bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy. This activates the yeast and ensures a light and airy bread.
  • In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until a smooth and elastic dough forms.
  • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 1/2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, mayonnaise, and garlic powder.
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a large circle or oval.
  • Spread half of the garlic butter mixture over the dough. Sprinkle with half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese, oregano, cayenne pepper, and salt.
  • Fold the dough in half, pressing the edges firmly to seal.
  • Using a sharp knife, make shallow cuts along the top of the folded dough. Brush with the remaining garlic butter mixture and sprinkle with the remaining cheese, oregano, cayenne, and salt.
