Instructions

Prepare the BCP Filling

  • Boil peas separately in salted water until tender. Boil beetroot separately in salted water until tender. Peel and puree the beetroot.
  • Mash the boiled peas.
  • Combine the mashed peas, grated carrot, mashed paneer, chopped coriander, ginger paste, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Mix well.

Make the Dough

  • In a large bowl, combine the whole wheat flour with the BCP mixture and the beetroot puree.
  • Gradually add water, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms. Knead for a few minutes until smooth.

Assemble and Cook the Dekar

  • Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin, round flatbread.
  • Spread oil on one roti. Top with sliced tomatoes and grated paneer.
  • Sprinkle with chaat masala, oregano, and chili flakes.
  • Cover with the second roti.
  • Cook on a lightly oiled griddle or tava over medium heat, flipping once, until both sides are golden brown and the filling is heated through.

Serve

  • Serve the BCP Healthy Fusion Dekar hot, optionally with green chutney.

Recipe Notes

Expert Tips

  • For a richer flavor, toast the cumin seeds and sesame seeds in the oil before adding other spices.
  • Adjust the amount of chili flakes and red chili powder to your preferred spice level.
  • If the dough is too dry, add a little more water. If too sticky, add more flour, a tablespoon at a time.
  • Experiment with other vegetables in the filling, such as spinach or zucchini.
