Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Sugar powdered
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 2 tbsp Flax Seeds
- 1/2 cup Fruits cranberries, dried, or chopped apricots, such as raisins
Wet Ingredients
- 1 Apple medium-sized, peeled and chopped
- 1 Banana mashed, ripe
- 2 Eggs large
- 1 cup Milk any kind
- 1/3 cup Vegetable Oil or a combination, sunflower or olive oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
Prepare the Dry Ingredients
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and baking powder. Set aside.
Prepare the Wet Ingredients
- Peel and chop the apple into small pieces. Mash the ripe banana. In a separate bowl, combine the mashed banana, chopped apple, and milk. Blend until smooth.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, oil, and the apple-banana-milk mixture. Add the vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Add Mix-ins
- Gently fold in the dried fruits and flax seeds.
Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
Bake the Cake
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice and serve.
