Steamed Vegetables

Steamed vegetables are easy to prepare and still contain almost all the benefits of raw vegetables. What you need is a steamer which is very easy to get, or you can also buy rice cooker which often offers a steamer as well and they are quite cheap. If you don’t have either one and don’t want to buy any, you still can use your pot, just make sure you have a tight fitting lid.

Stir Fry

You still can have nutritious stir fry meal if you cook them lightly and use healthy oil. This is my favorite fruit and vegetable diet recipes. I personally use olive oil or canola oil, they are the best in taste in my opinion and many experts believe the healthiest. Mix up your vegetables and experiment with it to find your favorite combination. Here are a few examples to start you off:

  1. A bag of frozen stir fry vegetables of any kind
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 cup sweet and sour sauce
  4. Heat oil in frying pan
  5. Stir fry the vegetables until crisp, about 10 minutes
  6. Add the sweet and sour sauce and cook 5 minutes more

It is that easy and that tasty. Once you are used to this, you can buy your own vegetable of choice from the produce department and experiment with it. You can also try the stir fry sauce, or the teriyaki sauce. You see, this fruit and vegetable diet recipes is so easy and tasty.

Salad

This is the healthiest way of eating fruits and vegetables. They still contain all the vitamins and minerals that are normally reduced due to cooking. Below are a few examples of my favorite salads that you may want to try.

  • 1 cup green grapes
  • Half cantaloupe or melon, chopped
  • 1 banana, sliced thin

Mixed everything in a bowl and add a dash of lemon juice, and voila! You have your delicious fruit salad. Other fruits you will love and enjoy include: kiwi, pear, orange, blueberries, strawberries, pineapples. Remember, you must wash your fruits first, even the ones with skin such as oranges.
