“Sometimes you have to give up somethings to fulfill your true passion” – That is what Sharmain did, for her love for food when she quit her well-paying job to follow a dream and introduce a Spanish delicacy – “Churros” to foodies in Bangalore.
Sharmain and her husband share a common love for discovering interesting, unique and delicious food and that has driven them to many places around the world, Spain being one of their favorites.
They were introduced to traditional Churros and they fell in love with it so much, that they decided to bring it back to their own country.
Being a foodie, Sharmain had a hunch on how the market would respond to churros. Traditional Churros were twisted accordingly and after a lot of experiments, Gourmet Churros with lots of variety like dark chocolate, hazelnut, peanut caramel, fresh strawberry with whipped cream were introduced to satiate the taste buds.
Once the decision was taken and she quit her job, she began the groundwork to have every aspect of the start-up completed and ready to launch. From sourcing specialized equipment and product design to staffing and location – in a span of two short months she was ready to launch.
Today, she is grateful for the support system which her family had provided when she was running helter-skelter to make her dream a reality. Her 3-year-old child and her husband are her true inspiration.
Just a few months down the line, “Gobble Me up- the Churros Destination” has a steadily growing fan base, with repeat customers and first-time customers who can’t stop at one Churro. The couple’s passion for food is obvious when you meet them at their store located in the food court of VR Bangalore mall. They often have monthly specials with new recipes that Sharmain works on purely out of a passion for food and flavors.
