  • 1 gm Black Gram 1 Cup urad dal full black
  • 1/4 cup Chana Dal
  • 2 Onions nos finely chopped
  • 2 Tomato pureed
  • 2 tbsp Desi Ghee
  • 1 tsp Jeera
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 glass Water
  • 1/2 tsp Kasuri methi
  • 1/2 tsp Saunf fennel powder
  • a asafoetida pich
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or as per taste
  • 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • 1 tbsp Cream
  • leaves Coriander


  • Pressure cook the dals with two glasses of water adding salt and haldi powder and hing till soft
  • For tadka Take a thick bottomed pan add ghee and heat . To it add jeera let it flutter then add saunf powder add the chopped onions and saute it till golden brown
  • Next to onions add ginger garlic paste and cook for till rawness of ginger garlic goes away . Add red chilli powder coriander garam masala powder saute and add pureed tomatoes curd and cream . Cook till oil separates
  • To the tadka add the boiled lentils and simmer for 10 minutes on low flame . Open lids and sprinkle kasuri methi powder
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and cream
  • Serve hot with rice/roti
