Ingredients
Watermelon & Mint
- 4 cup Watermelon seedless, about half a medium watermelon
- 1 cup Mint Leaves packed loosely, fresh
Liquid & Sweetener
- 2 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
- 1/4 cup Simple Syrup or to taste; adjust to your preference. see instructions for making simple syrup.
Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Salt kala namak, black, or to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Watermelon
- Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds.
Blend the Ingredients
- Combine the watermelon, mint leaves, and 1 cup of water in a blender. Blend until completely smooth.
Strain and Sweeten
- Strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove any pulp or seeds. Stir in the remaining 1 cup of water, lemon juice, simple syrup and black salt.
Make Simple Syrup (optional)
- Combine 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of sugar in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Let cool completely before using.
Chill and Serve
- Refrigerate the lemonade for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled over ice.
