Karela is an Indian dish. It is eaten all over India. But many people don’t like Karela because of its bitter taste specially children. So I have made it with a twist and really my kids started eating it.
1/2 kg karela
2 chopped onions
3 chopped green chilli
1 tspn salt
1/2 tspn red chilli powder
2 tspn amchur powder
1/2 tspn haldi powder
1/2 tspn hing
1 tspn dhania powder
1 tspn saunnf ( fennel ) powder
150 gms Paneer cut into small cubes
1 tblspn mustard oil
1 tspn jeera
Wash and peel karelas.. Slit in between it. Now put some salt over it and in between the slits. Keep them for 3 to 4 hours. Now wash the karelas and the scrape which we peeled.
Now deep fry all the karelas.Deseed the karelas if it is easily done.
Now on the other hand heat the oil in the kadai
Now on the other hand take a kadai and put 1 tspn oil in it. Now add hing and jeera. After that add chopped green chilli and chopped onions in it. Saute it for 3 to 5 mins. Now add the peeling of it or the scrape or chhilka of karelas.
Mix it and add all the dry spice ingredients. Now mix it well while adding paneer cubes in it.Mix it and cover it with the lid for 2 to 3 mins. After that when it cools down, stuff this Paneer mixture in the fried karelas.
Put these stuffed karelas in the kadai and cook for 4 to 5 mins from both the sides of the karelas by covering it with the lid.
Now after 5 mins Paneer stuffed karelas are rrady to serve with the meal. I am sure everyone would love it.
