Recipe Notes

Expert Tips for the Perfect Smoothie

  • For extra creaminess: Add a tablespoon of plain yogurt or a frozen ripe avocado.
  • Boost the nutrition: Include a handful of spinach or kale for a hidden veggie boost – the fig and banana will mask the flavor completely.
  • Adjust sweetness: Taste the smoothie before adding honey or another sweetener. The sweetness of figs and bananas can vary.
  • Make it ahead: Prepare the smoothie without ice and store it in the refrigerator. Add ice just before serving.
